The main puepose of the Bachelor's Degre of Teaching English as a Second Language with a Major in Educational Technology, is to provide a level of competence that allows the professional to develop in the educational fields of the country or abroad, under a profile that comprises administrative, organizational, consulting, bilingual or technological educational programs management, in order to become agents of change and innovation in their respective areas of work.

The following are the competencies that graduates should possess at the end of their studies.

Academic and cognitive:

Possesses a wide preparation in computer science that allows him/her to access in an increasingly autonomous way to new contents and transfers.

Is competent in the use of English and technological resources to develop in the activities of their occupational field.

Has a TOEFL certification to validate their proficiency in the English language.

Has a solid linguistic formation applying technology, allowing him/her to handle the four skills and the production of speeches (written and oral) in diverse communication situations.

Has theoretical and practical knowledge to support his/her performance as a teacher and/or administrator specialized in education.

Is organized and capable of planning teaching processes using the new teaching methodologies of the 21st century.

Recognizes the importance of professionalization and teacher updating for the continuous improvement of their own teaching and administration in the educational field.

Work and occupational skills:

Is able to create, adapt and organize educational curriculum in the areas of second language and/or technology learning.

Is able to organize extracurricular tasks of teaching and learning of the English language.

Possesses skills in research, elaboration and implementation of institutional projects and educational administration.

Is competent in the management, updating and application of criteria of the different areas of study that define his/her bilingual computer field.

Possesses the ability to plan, conduct and evaluate the teaching-learning process of the English language.

Technological:

Is competent in the promotion of educational projects applying variety of current technological components.

Manages the different modalities of technological education in face-to-face, blended or distance programs.

Optimizes technological resources in order to implement them in the formative and administrative process of their work environment.

Shows a favorable attitude towards improvement and permanent training in new technological and methodological updates.

Possesses capacities for autonomous, meaningful and collaborative learning, to keep updated with changing technologies.

Leadership:

Possesses the capacity for the administration of educational programs related to the management of the English language and the use of technology in the classroom.

Is capable of coordinating teachers in the areas he/she manages to guide them and lead them to an optimal work performance with their students.

Evidences a reflective, critical and transforming attitude with respect to the English language and the interpretation of the educational reality.

Outlines short, medium and long term goals, presenting results of what was planned.

Applies innovation of new methodologies, techniques and strategies as a consequence of the new trends of the XXI Century.

Anthropological:

Is proactive, without forgetting to be respectful and tolerant of those around him, taking into account the different opinions of all people.

Adequately manages his freedom to decide and choose responsibly.

Evidences transcendence of his work, in the relationship with himself, with others and with the social group that surrounds him.

Manages a management system by principles and values both moral and corporate.
