Career description

Traumatology and Orthopedics is a specialty that includes clinical assessment, diagnosis, prevention and treatment with surgical and non-surgical measures and appropriate rehabilitation in the care of patients with congenital and/or acquired diseases, deformities and traumatic and non-traumatic functional alterations of the locomotive apparatus and its associated structures (bones, muscles, joints and tendons).

What will you learn during the program?

During the Master in Traumatology and Orthopedics, you will acquire a solid knowledge base ranging from basic sciences, such as physiology and pathophysiology, to the clinical skills necessary to understand and address various orthopedic and traumatic pathologies of the locomotive system. You will learn to discern the underlying mechanisms that generate these conditions, as well as the healing processes or possible associated sequels. In addition, you will be trained in the interpretation of imaging and laboratory tests specific to the specialty. An integral clinical evaluation will be a central skill, allowing you to identify pathological processes and related entities, fundamental for the formulation of diagnostic, therapeutic and educational plans. Medical ethics will be present at all times, guiding your interaction with patients, families and the health team. Likewise, you will develop the practical ability to carry out procedures and techniques essential in the diagnosis and treatment of pathologies of the locomotive system, trauma and orthopedic conditions.
