The PhD programme in Sociology of Religion is essentially research-based and its fundamental objective is to make significant contributions in the area of applied research into the social phenomenon of religion, especially that of the Christian religion revealed in Jesus Christ and the Holy Scriptures. Its aim is to contribute to the development of reflection and social theological analysis of religious expression and its relationship with other sciences in order to strengthen higher Christian education and the development of the Christian church in the country.

The PhD in Sociology of Religion studies, analyzes and researches the role of religion in society and all social phenomena associated with it. Emphasis is placed on the role of the Christian Church and its place in society.

The doctoral candidate must have the following requirements to be able to enter the program: Professional who fulfils the requirements set out in the entry requirements, teachers with academic competencies for research and leadership in general, ecclesial leader of recognized ministerial trajectory and leadership, ability to integrate theological knowledge with scientific knowledge and willingness to change previously elaborated mental structures. Ability to work under academic pressure. Ability to apply acquired knowledge to the concrete situations of their profession, leadership or ministry. A person with a recognized professional and ethical track record.
