- The seismic laboratory simulates the effect of earthquakes on structures. It uses a shake table to evaluate aspects such as failure modes, energy dissipation capacity, and improvement alternatives for seismic events.
- Physical models are installed on the shake table to study the behavior of structures and draw conclusions about construction systems and design standards.
- Seismolab's shake table is the second of its kind installed in Latin America. It has a mobile base driven by hydraulic actuators and allows for testing at nearly full scale.
