1. The earthquake laboratory simulates the effect that earthquakes have on structures. It uses a shaking table to evaluate such aspects as failure modes, energy dissipation capacity and improvement alternatives for seismic events.
  2. Physical models are installed on the shaking table in order to study the structural behavior and draw conclusions on construction systems and design standards.
  3. Seismolab's shaking table is the second equipment of its kind installed in Latin America. It has a mobile base driven by hydraulic actuators and allows near full-scale testing.
